GRADUATE STUDENT MANUAL
LOYOLA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO

Welcome to Loyola University Chicago! Here at Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education (EDGE), we congratulate you as you embark on a new phase of your academic journey. We know that graduate study itself can oftentimes be an isolating experience. Thus, we would like to extend our welcome to you, and offer our assistance should you require it.
Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education (EDGE), under the Office of the Provost, is a graduate, professional and adult (GPA) student collective that strives to promote equity and foster community among students and scholars across all intersecting identities. EDGE develops programming to encourage socialization, networking, and professional development for GPA students from diverse backgrounds; collaborates with other university offices to promote events on campus that increase diversity and inclusion; and provides scholarships for GPA student research to advance our mission. We encourage students from all three campuses to utilize us, as well as other resources provided by LUC, as you progress through your academic pursuits. Please reach out to EDGE with questions about diversity, inclusivity, and community at edge@luc.edu.
Under this tab of the Graduate Student Manual, you will find a manual that covers common topics that new and returning students might find helpful.

By default, this information is applicable to the Lake Shore Campus and the Water Tower Campus; however, information related to the Health Science Campus is specified throughout. Without access to all resources and individuals’ labor from all three campuses, there may be some information missing. If you cannot find certain information here, or know that we have missed some, please let us know at edge@luc.edu. This is a working document that we hope will be useful to all students, and we strongly encourage your involvement and collaboration in this manual as well.
